4 skincare trends of 2020
Updated: Mar 22
2020 is here. A new year, a new decade and new skincare trends a set to light up the industry.
Let's breakdown what is forecasting to be the biggest in skincare and if we think you should get on board or ditch them faster than your new years resolutions.
1. Plant Based Beauty
Hell yes we are onboard with this one. As we move forward our community is becoming more environmentally conscious. They days of animal byproducts and testing on animals are gone. Enter plant based beauty. You don't have to tell us twice to use plants in skincare. Frankly we are excited to see this become the norm.

2. Balancing Your Skins Microbiome
Just like our guts, our skin too has its very own microbiome population that works tirelessly to protect us from external pollutants. Harsh chemicals, not rebalancing your pH levels and not feeding your bacteria the good stuff can lead to a skin microbiome imbalance. We wrote a piece on this last year if you want to take a deep dive in. Not sure where to start? Check out brands like Galinee, Probiotic Action, & Illiyoon.
3. Don't Forget Your Hair
Haircare is becoming a niche. Curls and straight hairs alike are getting the attention and care they deserve. Enter now - Scalp care. Your scalp is skin too, don't leave it out of the equation! Whether your issue be too much oil or not oily enough, expect 2020 to deliver you the goods to help you out.
4. SPF Superheros
We all know we need to wear it, but sometimes it can be hard to find one that doesn't make you breakout. Expect 2020 to showcase everyday SPF that is lightweight and noncomedogenic. The benefits of wearing sunscreen are endless. So if you aren't already on board, check out these brands (LaRoche Posey, Avene & Super Goop) for lightweight, full coverage.
So there you have it, our 2020 skin care predictions. Anything you think that is going to fly this year? Let us know in the comments below.
